New Mentorship Classes

This message is a follow-up to Lt Edmund's previous e-mail.

At the next Squadron meeting, we will conduct Mentorship sessions to help you prepare for your next achievement exam.  For March, Mentorship will focus on the Leadership tests, and in April we will focus on the Aerospace Dimensions modules.

You are receiving this e-mail to inform you that, according to information in your cadet file, you're scheduled to sit for the [Your next leadership module] of the publication, Leadership for the 21st Century - 2nd Edition.

Please begin now to study for this exam.  What we do on Tuesday will reinforce the material, but will not be enough to guarantee you'll pass the exam.  The responsibility to prepare is on you.

If this information is in error, or you have any questions, please contact me.

See you Tuesday!

Dennis Fellin, 1Lt, Civil Air Patrol, OK113

Cadet Weekly Reminder

First, congratulations to everyone who promoted, job well done! I expect to see all of our cadets shooting up the ranks and many more reaching their Mitchell Award.

Tuesday (3/3) will be Mentorship. Come prepared with questions, comments and discussion topics related to your  leadership module. These classes will help to prepare you for your tests on the following Tuesday. I expect everyone to test and to pass.

UOD: BDUs

We have put in an order to Vanguard and those of you that need insignia items should have them soon. For those of you that needed ribbon holders, we found several more in the supply closet, stop by before the meeting, during the break or after the meeting to see if we have yours in stock. Be prepared with a check or small bills and change to purchase the items you need (we have very little change).

If you need rank insignia, you can turn in your old insignia for new insignia for, free.
If you need ribbon holders, you can turn in your old ribbon holder for a new one, for free.
You are responsible to purchase the majority of your own ribbons, most are 60 cents.

For those of you waiting for wearable uniform items, such has flight caps, I have been checking AAFES for the correct sizes, once they have them, you will have them.

Upcoming Events:

7 March - SAREVAL - for those of you that are trainees in an ES rating may attend.

14 March - Cadet O-Rides - All of you need O-Rides, we will have two sessions, a morning and an afternoon, details TBA.

3-5 April - Joint FTX with Edmond, details TBA.

The new Squadron website is up: www.ok113.org. Please check it often for news and photos, the calendar also has detailed information about upcoming events. Direct anyone who may be interested in CAP to the website, it should answer many of their questions.

If you have photos that you would like to submit, I will post them. I also, encourage all of you to write articles to post to the news feed, even if all you write is a paragraph or two. I expect to have articles from every event attended describing your experience. If I do not receive articles to post I will begin to assign cadets, on a rotating basis, to write articles.

As always, if you have any questions or comments feel free to call or email.
